5 Star Campsites
Sirene Holidays proudly present 5 stars in front of 3 campsites, all in the same town.
A first in the camping industry!
GENERAL PRESENTATION
On 22nd July 2009 the laws concerning the development and modernization of tourist services sees a reform in the classification of tourist accommodation (hotels, campsites, holiday centre’s etc). All of this is to be carried out and controlled by the company “ATOUT FRANCE”.
These new “customer orientated” norms are destined to help improve the quality of products and services due to more demanding and complex guidelines. Its objective is to strengthen the competition amongst tourist accommodation. These new requirements for quality and service are to be controlled every 5 years by a specially accredited company.
On 6th July 2010 the new regulations and procedures for the classification of campsites and residential parks were published. The main objective for the new classification being to update the different criteria’s which will reinforce the credibility of the star ratings. These new criteria’s will strongly privilege quality of services, excellent news for holiday makers who are noticing more and more the variations that can be found between different campsites classed in the same category.
SOME EXPLANATIONS ON THE KEY POINTS
- The end of Compulsory Classifications : The classification will no longer be systematic and compulsory. From now on the application for stars is voluntary; campsites can function without a classification.
- The birth of a 5th Star : A 5th star is now available for the top of the range campsites, allowing them to improve their image on an international scale and to enhance the level of products and services.
- A classification for 5 years : The classification is no longer definitive; it is valid for 5 years, at the end of which the campsite must be re-evaluated, in order to maintain a level of services that correspond to the number of stars awarded.
- Standards Multiplied : Standards are not only based on quantity, quality and service take a very important place, and will remain flexible to take into consideration the diversity of the products.
- A progressive system : These new classifications are to be progressive, with the possibility to adapt them as or when some criteria become obsolete.
The two classifications are to work together until July 2012, when the new star rating system will be fully in place.
THE CAMPSITE CLUB LA SIRENE AIMS FOR THE 5TH STAR
La Sirene is well known for being a pioneer in the campsite industry:
In 1993, the 1400m² tropical swimming pool was built, which at the time was a revolution, and remains today a reference for campsites in France.
One of the first campsites to believe in luxury mobile homes, today, all of the mobile homes are made to measure exclusively for our campsites, with high standard finishing’s, and renewed every 5 years!
Exceptional entertainment, with mind-blowing shows on a par with musical productions from Broadway and an infrastructure allowing a great diversity of fun and sporting entertainment for all of the family.
It was quite naturally that La Sirene, L’Hippocampe and the Bois de Valmarie obtained their 5th Star, because for many, many years customer satisfaction has been the centre of their concerns.
In May 2011, following inspections by the accredited company, all 3 campsites in Argeles sur Mer are classed with 5 stars.
